Wednesday June 2nd
Today we met back with Dr.Rich to find out the results to the liver biopsy. Cody's mom came with us which was really great. The first thing that was said to us was he has stage 4 colon cancer which is not curable which came as a complete shock considering his age. The next thing I remember hearing is Dr.Rich saying out of 100 people 50% make it 1-2 years and then 20% out of the remaining 50 make it up to 5 years. At that point my mind completely shut down and i looked at Cody and his coloring was completely gone having a hard time breathing I thought he was about to pass out. I believe at that point we took in about half of what was said to us. something about chemo and something about a study. Good thing Cody's mom was there so out of the 3 of us at least one of us heard something.
Thursday June 3rd
today we were scheduled for a pet ct which showed us exactly where his cancer was at. In this it showed how much was in his liver. He had cancer on both sides which ruled out surgery at that time.
Monday June 7th
Today was the fun day as Cody called it he was going into be rotor rooter. this showed he had two tumors about the size of a golf ball. They were very low and really close to each other which was really great.
At this point we were unable to hid that I was expecting I was 10 weeks and very sick. Tenlie was so excited she was bound and determined that she was having a baby sister. She would tell everyone that if it was a boy it would be really bad. This helped take there mind off what was going on with her dad.

Today starts a new chapter in our little Family
May 27 changed our lives forever. It all started about the end of march when Cody started to complain about back pain. We didn't think much of it at the time due to him working in construction. It went on for several weeks so he finally went in and was told he had some pulled muscles so to take IB Profen and do some stretches. With all that things weren't looking so great he was still in quit some pain and now feeling flu like symptoms so he went back in. At this time he was tested and it came back positive for strep throat, but was on the tail end of it so just let it work its way. Several days had passed and nothing was changing just getting worse so he went back in and his strep was gone, but had a severe kidney infection. At that time he was given a strong anti biotic that he had a reaction to so we had to switch that went on for several weeks. He was starting to feel better but still wasn't great so after lots of convincing and prying his mom got him to go back to the Dr. All his tests were looking good but they thought he may have something wrong with his gallbladder. He was set up for a CT on May 27th at that time his gallbladder results came back looking great, but they could see spots in his liver that looked like cancer.
Friday May 28
We had an appointment with a cancer specialist. We were told that the main types of cancer they were looking at were prostate, limpthoma, and thyroid. We were set up for a liver biopsy that afternoon to see where the cancer was coming from. Of course it was a weekend and not only that but a holiday one. So we wouldn't get any results till Wednesday when we met back with the Dr.
I think Cody and I felt like that was the longest weekend of our life. We've always said weekends go by way to fast until this one.
