May 27 changed our lives forever. It all started about the end of march when Cody started to complain about back pain. We didn't think much of it at the time due to him working in construction. It went on for several weeks so he finally went in and was told he had some pulled muscles so to take IB Profen and do some stretches. With all that things weren't looking so great he was still in quit some pain and now feeling flu like symptoms so he went back in. At this time he was tested and it came back positive for strep throat, but was on the tail end of it so just let it work its way. Several days had passed and nothing was changing just getting worse so he went back in and his strep was gone, but had a severe kidney infection. At that time he was given a strong anti biotic that he had a reaction to so we had to switch that went on for several weeks. He was starting to feel better but still wasn't great so after lots of convincing and prying his mom got him to go back to the Dr. All his tests were looking good but they thought he may have something wrong with his gallbladder. He was set up for a CT on May 27th at that time his gallbladder results came back looking great, but they could see spots in his liver that looked like cancer.
Friday May 28
We had an appointment with a cancer specialist. We were told that the main types of cancer they were looking at were prostate, limpthoma, and thyroid. We were set up for a liver biopsy that afternoon to see where the cancer was coming from. Of course it was a weekend and not only that but a holiday one. So we wouldn't get any results till Wednesday when we met back with the Dr.
I think Cody and I felt like that was the longest weekend of our life. We've always said weekends go by way to fast until this one.
Tori, I am so sorry to hear about your husband and the new trial that your family is going through. I have two very close relatives that since January have been diagnosed with cancer. It has been hard and very challenging. I just want you to know that I am thinking of you and you will be in my prayers.
