Disneyland

Its kind of crazy how things come together in so many ways.

We had planned this vacation at the end of January before even having any knowledge of Cody's illness. It was quit amazing when we sat down to figure out where he would be in his treatments. We were happy to find that it hit the half way mark of round 1. We were not sure at the time of his diagnoses if we should continue on with the trip, but yet didn't feel like we should cancel. We are so grateful that we pushed forward even under hard times and take this opportunity to enjoy a vacation with our family. Cody did so great we know that someone was looking down on us for sure. The weather could not have been better since Cody gets really sick in the heat and sun. The first tow days which we had nothing planned for just rest after a long drive were very hot and sunny. After that the days at the park became very nice mid to low 70's with cloud cover. We were so grateful for this now Cody didn't have to worry about finding shade or getting to over heated. The day we were leaving it was in the high 80's and we have been told by people that it just got hotter from there.

We were so lucky to get both of my parents there for my dad has vouched for many years that he was done with theme parks. My kids must have used a little of there pixy dust to get grandpa there. It was so fun to take him and show him all the things we love about the place. We started off the vacation by taking him to the Aladdin show and then to bugs life. Which you can see we all transformed into little bugs.

This was the first time either of my kids had used the 3-d glasses and it was quit comical they both ended up on the floor. For those of you that have seen the show know what i am talking about. We love taking first timers to see it. I believe just after seeing those two shows he was glad he had come. Our next stop was fantasmic which is always a great show no matter how many times you have seen it. We could not have had better seats for it (thanks Tiffany and Charlie for saving them for us).

The next day was another easy one we got up went swimming for a while and then headed over to the park. We knew the park would be busy for it was Labor Day and so we were in no hurry to fight the crowds. We road some rides and then camped out for the parade and the firework show.

So one of the rides we hit that day was Grizzly river rapids. Lets just say you definitely get wet. I was very grateful that I had packed extra close for Tenlie just in case it got too cold at night. We were all soaked, but as Tenlie said it was well worth it. Grandma was very glad Stetson was a little to short to ride the ride.

The parade was quit fun they came and got my kids to join in with them. After the parade was over we just found ourselves a nice park bench in front of the castle to watch the firework show. There is no better place to see them than in front of the castle. While we waited we loved watching people and just ate our dinner.

I just love the castle at night and then you add the fireworks with it and the show they put on all I can say is WOW!!!

To be continued....
