First Grade

August 22

Today was her big day the day she had been waiting all summer for.  She is so excited for first grade and to be able to eat lunch at school.  When I would ask her what she was most excited for she would tell us to just eat lunch at school.

I'm not sure I was ready for this little one to be gone all day.  I'm so sad I wont be able to see her very much.  She has become my little Buddie and we have had such great times together.  Everyone says that once they start first grade the next thing you know they will be gone.

This is one thing she looks forward to is getting to school early and socializing with her friends on the stairs before school begins.  She makes sure we leave in time so she will have a few minutes to hang with her friends.

These are some of her good friends from kindergarten.
From the left: Rachelle, Tenlie, Paige, and Tabitha.
Once again Mom was having a hard time dropping her off and knowing I wont see her again until 3.
But as hard of a time mom may have been having Stetson was even sadder.  He wouldn't even talk to us on our way out to the car and just hung his head down.  All he kept saying is that he just wanted his sissy home.

End of Summer Bash

Monday August 15

So Tenlie wanted to have a back to school end of summer bash with all her Cousins and close friends.  My mom and her Neighbor has the blow up water slides so we set them up along with a little pool and a slippen slide.  My moms back yard transformed into its very own water park.  They had such a great time together playing and running around.
After a while they started to get really tricky on the slide and we were getting quit the show.
Then they took some relaxation in the pool while they ate their Popsicles.
Then it was off to the sliding contests.

And as you can see the parents were enjoying them selves while watching our crazy water rats.

After we had wore them out in the water they had good appetites.  nothing a little cooked hot dogs and marshmallows cooked over a fire wouldn't fix.
What a great time we had.  I'm a little sad to have the summer coming to an end.  My parents have the best back yard.  My kids love playing there.

Hobble Creek Half Marathon

August 20

Well today was the big Hobble Creek Race.  This is one of the races I had been working up to and was very excited to run.  My good friend Torie and I had decided we wanted to run a half together this year so we chose to do the Hobble Creek one.  It was such a fun time training together.  We joined a track class that met every Monday morning to do sprinting drills to help improve our speed.  it was a very hard class, but very fun to do it together.  We also would hook up at least 2-3 times a week to run our distance runs together.  I really enjoyed our time out on the road.

So our morning started out with me picking up Torie and Corie at 4 in the morning to get to the buses.  Their was a slight glitch in the buses and we had to wait for awhile to get to the start line.  Once we were up there it was really nice.  The race actually only started 15 minutes late which was really good for this race.  The weather was really nice a t the beginning, but then warmed up towards the end.  Torie and I stayed together up to mile 9 which was really fun.  She was rocking the race course for it being her first half ever.  I was so proud of her she exceeded her goal by quit sometime.  She really wanted to finish just under 2 hours and she came in @ 1:53.  That is an awesome time.

Here we are at the finish line.
Here is the three of us.
Corie, Torie, And myself.

My stats:
Time: 1:50:10
Age division 61 out of 184
Overall 352 out of 1074

I was able to get another PR by a hole 37 sec.

This race was my very first half 2 years ago so it was fun to run it again and see how much I had improved.  I ran it in 2009 with a time of 2:07:12

Alpine Days Parade

August 13

So every year for alpine Days the Salon participates in it. I do have to say it turns out to be fun and the kids really have a great time.  We have a great group of girls working their right now.

Stetson Learns to ride a two wheeler.

August 3
Today Stetson was tickled pink.  He was so excited to be able to ride his bike without training wheels.  This little guy has absolutely no fear in him whatsoever.  It wasn't even long after he figured it out he was trying tricks like standing up, no feet, jumping of the curb and more.. I believe he will be the life of me.  I can't even watch him at times for he gives me anxiety.

As you can see in this picture he thought he was tough stuff.

Swim Team

July 2011

So this Summer Tenlie was able to join the little Swim Team at O'Neal Aquatics.  She is my little swimmer and is very good at it.  It was fun and very low key.  Her Cousin Colby was on it along with her Two Friends Cole and Jaycee.

This is her at the first swim meet.  She did very well.
This is all the kids who participated in the meet that day along with their Coach Alicia.

Timpanogos Half Marathon

Saturday July 30

So this year I decided I was going to take on running to help release some of the stress in my life.  So far it has been a great one.  At the last minute I decided since I was scheduled to run a 13 miler that weekend I would hurry and sign up for the Timpanogos Half marathon and enjoy the run down American Fork Canyon.  It was very pretty and such great weather.

One thing that is really nice with races is running them with someone.  I found out that my Sister-in-law Corie and her neighbor Rachelle had signed up so I was able to hang with them at the start.  Then while we were up at the start we ran into Jodie Wimmer and her Cousin Jamie Christiansen.  The race began and we all started out together.  Jodie and I stayed most of the race together which was really nice to help pace each other.  I was able to get a new PR on this race which I was able to shave off quit some time.
My time was
